How to take care of your skin with a proper cleansing regimen. The foundation of your beautiful look is healthy, blemish-free skin. A beautiful, smooth, glowing complexion starts with eating the right foods, getting the right amount of exercise, getting plenty of sleep, and a skin care program suited to your needs.
Many experts suggest that eight glasses of water, eating lots of fruits and vegetables, and a good night's sleep are the most important factors. Once you've got the basics of health, you need to set up a skin-care routine that suits your skin type.
Morning and night, use an oil-free cleanser to reduce the risk of clogged pores. Follow it with a toner to remove residue and shrink pores.
Depending on your skin type, exfoliate with a good scrub every other day or every 2 days depending on your skin sensitivity. This will remove dead cells and leave your skin brighter and smoother. Also don't forget your neck, shoulders, and legs when you exfoliate.
This will give your body and skin a consistent bright or polished look. Choose a gentle body polisher, such as a salt or sugar-based product that contains moisturizers an exfoliants.
Choose the best moisturizer to fit your skin type. If dryness is a problem, select a moisturizer, usually a cream, rich in emollients. On the other hand, oily skin will benefit from an oil-free product such as a lotion that contains humectants such as glycerin or lactic acid rather than emollients.
When a late night leaves you feeling tired with puffy eyes, turn to a product that contains an anti-inflammatory ingredient as well as moisturizers. It is also well to select a product that can be worn under makeup. Cucumber based products have long had a successful record for soothing the eye area.
You can have a Sun Kissed look without the dangers of over exposure to the Sun's Ultra Violet light or a tanning bed. Take a look at the available bronzers in both powder and cream formulations. The powder can be easier to control. Apply light strokes to your nose and cheek bones, and forehead. Think of how the sun strikes and warms your face. Anywhere the sun would ordinarily touch you is where you should use a soft, sable brush to apply the make up. If you prefer a more blended look, pick a cream bronzer, smooth it on with care, and blend to evenness with a sponge.
With polished, healthy-looking skin, you will feel more beautiful and confident for that special occasion.
